Bishop Stephen, Eparch of Toronto and Eastern Canada invited the faithful of the Eparchy to extend a helping hand to the people of Haiti who suffered great losses. Many people lost loved ones in the earthquake, countless numbers suffered serious injury. In addition, the tragedy included loss of homes, of personal belongings and of livlihood.
The faithful of the Eparchy responded quickly and generously. As a result of donations forwarded to the Eparchial office to date, a cheque in the amount of twenty-six thousand dollars ($26 000.00) has been forwarded to CARITAS - Haiti.
Thanks to all who have donated to help those who have become so needy so suddenly.
A special thanks goes out to the many volunteers and the organizations working in Haiti to help the people in ways that money itself cannot help.
Whatsoever you do to the least of my Brothers and Sisters, you do onto me!
