Prayer for the sick

O Holy Father, Physician of souls and bodies, 
You humble and you raise up again; 
You restore those who are cast down; 
You relieve the bodily afflictions of people.

Visit in Your mercy, Your servant, ___ (name)__, 
who needs Your healing power. 
Stretch forth You arm that is full of health and healing. 
O Lord, heal him/her, 
send down Your power from heaven and touch the body. 
Banish every trace of illness. 
Be a physician to Your servant, __(name) __ and raise him/her perfectly restored to health.

We give glory, thanks and worship to You, Father 
and to Your only begotten Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ 
and to Your most Holy Spirit now and for ever and ever.
